Article 1: Information Governance Primer for In-House Counsel Sponsored by Contoural

“This InfoPAK is a primer for in-house counsel starting, building, executing, and refining an Information Governance program. It explains why companies are launching these programs, how to develop an IG committee, key steps in creating a business case and how to develop a program roadmap. It also addresses specific Information Governance areas, such as updating a record retention schedule, creating a data security policy, developing a proactive litigation readiness program, as well as objectively measuring the effectiveness of these areas.”

Article 2: Checklist: Who Should Be Brought to the Table To   Implement IG in Your Corporation by Jason R. Baron, Of Counsel, Drinker Biddle & Reath, LLP

“The promise of implementing a solid IG program is in the opportunity it provides for both in-house and outside counsel to apply their legal expertise to initiatives that can transform an organization’s business, while still complying with complex legal and regulatory requirements.   In-house counsel has an important role to play in championing the idea of having a uniform, coherent approach to IG – one that weaves together corporate policies and procedures touching on data, information and records.”
