If you're interested in catching a fun movie with some fellow ACC members,
please join us on Friday, February 4.  Based on the level of interest in
specific films, our "fun flick" could be one of the Oscar contenders.

Depending on the selected film's showtime, we will meet for a social hour
(coffee, dessert) either prior to or after the film.  The film, showtime
and location of the cinema will be identified during the week of January
31.  While the best showtime will be selected based on cinema location and
movie running time, it will likely be between 7-8 pm.

can join us or have any questions.

Hiking Group - A Waterfall in Our Backyard: Los Penasquitos Canyon (2/13/11)

Teaser here

A Waterfall in Our Backyard: Los Penasquitos Canyon Hike (2/13/11)

Escape on a hike to a nearby cascading waterfall with your colleagues.  Los Penasquitos Canyon is a convenient oasis of flora and fauna around this pleasant stream.  Our round trip hike to and from the waterfall may take us about 2-1/2 hours (5.5 miles with just 200 feet elevation gain)--but it’s easy to turn around early if you decide that you are not ready for that much.

At 9:00 am on Sunday, February 13, we will meet near the split of the 5 and the 805.  To get to the trail head, exit the 805 at Mira Mesa/Sorrento Valley Road.  Take either I-805 frontage road (Sorrento Valley Road on the west side or Vista Sorrento Pkwy on the east side) 1 mike north to Sorrento Valley Blvd.  Turn right and continue 1 mile east.  Then turn right into the western staging area for Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve.

RSVPs are completely optional, and can be made in advance to: Jana Rubenstein, jrubenstein@soe.sony.com , 858-699-7705.  On Sunday, if anyone is running late or is lost, please call me.

Bring a guest if you like… but please leave at home any youngsters who can’t keep up.  Dogs are welcome on this trail too. Remember to bring water, sun protection and especially your week-end state of mind.  See you then!
