Teaser here

April 19, 2012

7:30 AM - 9:00 AM

Overview

Join Paul, Plevin attorneys as they “demystify” the new wage notice required by the California Wage Theft Prevention Act as of January 1, 2012, and give you a heads-up on the new commission plan requirements that will become effective January 1, 2013.

This seminar will provide practical advice on a number of questions for the new wage notice, including how to complete the form for non-exempt employees receiving commissions, bonuses, shift differentials and other forms of supplemental compensation.  It will also address whether employers should create their own template, whether employers should provide the information as part of the offer letter, and how to give notice of compensation changes.

The session will also help you plan for compliance with the new law that requires commission plans to be in a writing signed by employees as of January 1, 2013.  We will discuss how best to describe commission requirements, obtain employee signatures and comply with the law for any commission plan amendments or modifications.
