LEGAL ISSUES AND THE 21st CENTURY WORKFORCE

NEW JERSEY'S SECOND ANNUAL PRO BONO CONFERENCE
Date & Time: May 5, 2009, 8:30am-2:30pm
Description: This conference will bring together the legal community to discuss pro bono work in the face of challenging economic times. The conference will also provide an opportunity to learn about: successful law firm and in-house pro bono programs around the state; pro bono opportunities available at pro bono and legal services organizations; the state of pro bono in the nation; and the benefits of engaging in pro bono work to firms, corporations and individual attorneys. Through plenary sessions, panels and networking opportunities, the conference provides a wide range of learning and sharing experiences for all attendees including corporate counsel, private lawyers, law firm and in-house legal department management, pro bono and legal services program staff, judges and others.

SUSTAINING A CORPORATE PRO BONO PROGRAM IN AN ECONOMIC DOWNTURN

Description: This program will focus on best practices for managing corporate pro bono work in challenging economic times, including how to sustain employee engagement and leadership support, and ensure ongoing compliance with ethical rules. This will be a two-hour NY CLE accredited program (one hour professional practice, one hour ethics), followed by a cocktail reception.
