On November 30th, Gibbons PC and the NJCCA Women's Networking Committee sponsored a presentation by Michele Coleman Mayes and Kara Sophia Baysinger, co-authors of "Courageous Counsel: Conversations with Women Counsel in the Fortune 500", on the rise and growing clout of women general counsel. In writing Courageous Counsel, Michele Coleman Mayes and Kara Sophia Baysinger interviewed more than 40 past, present, and future Fortune 500 women general counsel with the goal of not merely chronicling their careers, but sharing the dreams and aspirations, successes and setbacks, and other experiences of their rise to the top. At this special event at the Manor in West Orange, the authors provided insights into their work on the book - and advice for women lawyers on how to reach their fullest potential. The presentation was followed by a spirited question & answer session, as well as an opprtunity for additional networking. And dispite the title, men were in attendance.
