Share Your Contracts by January 16 and You Could Win!

ACC is developing an automated contract system that creates and updates contract templates. This system will analyze contract language from thousands of contracts to synthesize a model legal document containing the most common clauses and language used by lawyers in practice today. To help get the ball rolling, we are offering prizes to those members who submit the most contracts. Chapters with 15 percent of their members submitting will be entered into a raffle for a free Annual Meeting registration. Also, the chapter with the most submissions overall will win a free registration. To submit a contract (all will be redacted to omit personal information), go to http://www.acc.com/legalresources/contractsubmission.cfm. For questions about the contract template system, contact Rachel Okolski, assistant general counsel, at (202) 293-4103, ext. 361 or okolski@acc.com.

Hudson County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), a non-profit organization that advocates for children in foster care, is currently seeking volunteers to become a child’s voice in court. CASA’s mission is to find a safe and permanent home for nearly 200 children it serves. Volunteers must be interviewed, attend an eight session training program, do a three-hour court observation and be sworn in by a judge in the Family Division of Superior Court. Prospective volunteers are asked to attend an orientation session, which are held monthly. The next one will be on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the Hudson County Administration building. For more information, please visit: www.hudsoncountycasa.org or call: 201-795-9856. This is a  volunteer commitment which can alter the course of a child’s life.

Call for Volunteers: Get Involved in NJCCA!

NJCCA is soliciting volunteers to help us with our various activities, including our major events (i.e., our Spring Cocktail Reception in May; Tennis, Golf and Spa Outing in June; All-Day CLE Conference in September; and Annual Dinner in November), fundraising activities, charitable events, and social networking initiatives, among other things.

Becoming more involved in NJCCA will hopefully improve your membership experience, enable you to network with peers, and offer you the opportunity to help contribute to the New Jersey in-house legal community.

If you are interested in becoming move involved with NJCCA, please contact NJCCA's Executive Director, Gail Girard, on (609) 312-7772 or at njcca@comcast.net.
